RETOS wins 2019 Solve Community-Driven Innovators Challenge

RETOS

RETOS—an AI-powered web platform to facilitate, enhance, visualize, and predict connections between thousands of challenges posted by rural communities, and academic/practitioner counterparts in local universities—was one of eight projects chosen for MIT Solve's Community-Driven Innovators class on September 22, 2019.  

Additionally, RETOS won the AI Innovations Prize awarded by the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation and the Schmidt Futures philanthropy initiative, and the UN Women She Innovates Prize for Gender-Responsive Innovation awarded by the UN Women Global Innovation Coalition for Change, Johnson & Johnson and EY.

The RETOS team is:  Diana Duarte (co-founder of Distancia Cero); Alex Freese; Carolina González Barahona (Distancia Cero);  David Osorio (co-founder of Distancia Cero); and  Pedro Reynolds-Cuéllar (MIT Media Lab).
