Team Pulse of the Ocean, consisting of Signal Kinetics group members Reza Ghaffarivardavagh, Sayed Saad Afzal, Osvy Rodriguez, and Fadel Adib, has been selected as one of 10 Explorer Prize winners in the DISCOVER Competition—the first stage of the Ocean Observing Prize.
Administered by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the prize recognizes and supports submissions that "integrate marine renewable energy with ocean observation platforms, to revolutionize data collection needed to understand and map the ocean."
Team Pulse of the Ocean's research will receive a $10,000 cash prize, and is also supported by the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
