This research aims to understand the types of technological and conceptual tools that communities need to develop rich understandings of local history and the process of investigating it. We are building tools that allow users to geo-reference images from their photo albums and Web pages. There are libraries of images in every home, and we want to provide people with tools to upload their historical records.
