Pandemic Response CoLab

Pandemic Response CoLab will help individuals and groups work together to solve practical problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic. By leveraging an open online collaboration platform, we hope to mobilize innovators, communities, businesses, and others to develop actionable solutions to real problems.

Over time, we expect the online community using Pandemic Response CoLab to help:

  • Identify key problems related to COVID-19,
  • Develop solutions to these problems, and
  • Recruit people and resources to implement these solutions.

Our initial activities focus on the first of these stages: identifying key problems.

What can you do?

You can join the Pandemic Response CoLab community now and participate in the first activity:

Identifying key problems: What COVID-19 related problems do you see in the world—or in your neighborhood—that you think aren't being solved well enough? Please contribute by clicking on the Challenges tab on the linked page.

Soon, you will also be able to help develop plans and recruit resources to solve some of these problems.

The Our approach page gives more detail about how we expect the process to work.

Who’s organizing this?

Pandemic Response CoLab is a project of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence and the Community Biotechnology Initiative at the MIT Media Lab. It builds on a decade of work on MIT Climate CoLab, a platform where more than 120,000 people are working together to develop novel ideas to address climate change. Millipore Sigma is a founding collaborator.
