Serosa III

Serosa III is a wearable electrode patch that records gastric activity. It reduces the size of the interface and incorporates high-resolution electrogastrography (EGG) methodology.

Using feedback and results from previous studies, Serosa III moves the bioamplifier and battery to the front of the abdomen and reduces the size of the interface. In addition, it records higher resolution gastric (stomach) activity than previous versions.

Below, we demonstrate how Serosa III can record gastric (stomach) waves after a 454 calorie meal. These signals are a marker of parasympathetic activation, or “rest and digest.” This “rest and digest” activation is what we seek to maintain and modulate via gut-brain computer interfacing (GBCI).
