TephraNet: Self-Organizing Wireless Sensor Network

This project is a physical realization of the self-organizing algorithms work started by Rob Poor with Hyphos. TephraNet is a self-organizing network of 100 nodes deployed in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to monitor endangered species of plants and animals. The project is a collaboration with the University of Hawaii, which is using the data collected for microclimatology research.
