PlaceMap constructs a new model for maps that increases our awareness of the world around us by exploring new theoretical frameworks for spatial applications called user centered mapping. Grounded in our understanding of real-world models of spatial decision-making and the failings of traditional mapping applications, user-centered mapping provides the tools for a new approach to mapping that mirrors the way we think about space. By establishing a computational model of place we can begin formulate understanding of how to design the next generation of spatial applications.
