Groff, J. (2014). Technology-Rich Innovative Learning Environments. OECD Working Paper.

Abstract

Understanding how to move our existing schools into modern, digital learning environments is a critical and challenging task of our time. Technology has long been looked to as a key lever for such change, but history as shown results to be mixed at best. Through case studies conducted for the OECD Innovative Learning Environments project, we discuss a framework for identifying how schools evolve, transform, and at times completely redesign themselves—both with modern technologies as well as redesign and change management practices to produce these outcomes. In this text we will explore this framework and case studies, and discuss implications for policy-makers, practitioners, and future directions of research.
