Dr. Canan Dagdeviren has been invited as a Distinguished Invited Speaker at the 2026 Materials Research Society (MRS) Spring Meeting, one of the premier international conferences in materials science and engineering. She will present two invited talks showcasing advances from the Conformable Decoders research group at the MIT Media Lab.
Her first presentation, “A conformable phased-array ultrasound patch for bladder volume monitoring,” will be delivered as part of the symposium EN06: Nanogenerators and Piezotronics. This talk highlights the development of wearable, mechanically adaptive ultrasound systems designed for continuous and operator-independent monitoring of internal organ function.
Her second invited presentation, “An implantable piezoelectric ultrasound stimulator (ImPULS) for deep brain activation,” will be presented in the symposium SB03: Materials and Devices for Wearable Optoelectronic Systems. This work introduces a new implantable ultrasound neurostimulation platform enabling targeted, minimally invasive deep-brain activation.
