Dr. Valentina Sumini participated as invited speaker to the Space Week at EXPO Dubai 2020 in occasion of the panel "The lunar space economy" organized by Leonardo Group and SDA Bocconi.

The panel focused on the future of human and robotic lunar missions envisioning a sustainable exploration of our closest celestial body in the framework of NASA's ARTEMIS Program. 

Dr. Valentina Sumini presented her Space Architecture research projects that have been developed at MIT Media Lab, within Space Exploration Initiative and Responsive Environments, as well as her collaborative didactic activity between Politecnico di Milano and MIT.

The speakers panel included UAE astronauts Hazza Al Mansouri, ESA Astronaut Luca Parmitano, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, ESA General Director Josef Aschbacher, ASI President Giorgio Saccoccia, Alessandro Profumo (Leonardo CEO ), Massimo Comparini (Thales Alenia Space CEO), Luigi Pasquali (Telespazio CEO), Giulio Cappellini (Cappellini Chief Designer), Prof. Severino Meregalli (SDA Bocconi), Dr. Mattia Pianorsi (SDA Bocconi), Hamad Ahmad Al Marzooqi (Project Manager – Emirates Lunar Mission/Rashid Rover), Dr. Francesca Esposito (INAF), Dr. Ian Lange (Colorado School of Mines) and Paolo Glisenti  (General Commissioner’s office of Italy for Expo 2020 Dubai).
