Poetic Computation

Description:
This talk will introduce the Future Sketches group at MIT Media Lab, and focus on a range of work which explores the intersection of computation, art and design.  Poetic Computation is the exploration of the computer as a tool for art making, allowing us to as questions such as: what would it look like if we could see our own voice?   Can drawings come to life?   How can we see the world and our bodies in new ways?   This talk will help situate the work of the Future Sketches group at the Media Lab as well as discuss new areas of research on topics like Augmented Reality and Machine Learning.  Finally we will discuss the implications of COVID-19 on digital art practice.
