Isaac Perper

Former Research Assistant
  • Signal Kinetics

Isaac is an aspiring engineering from the Bay Area, CA and is currently pursuing his M.Eng with the Signal Kinetics Group.  He also spend his undergrad at MIT, double majoring in Mechanical Engineering and EECS, while also getting a minor in Economics.  During his undergrad, he was a member of the varsity soccer team, President of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, and did research on autonomous boats with MIT Sea Grant.

As you can probably tell, Isaac has a wide range of research and extracurricular interests that keep him busy.  In the Signal Kinetics Group, Isaac is exploring how to improve robotics tasks with RFID localization, such as manipulation and navigation.  He has always been excited about breakthrough technologies that can have an immediate impact on real-world challenges, and there is a huge potential for accurate, scalable localization across many industries.

Outside of MIT, Isaac has spent time in industry doing R&D focused internships at companies large and small, such as Ford Motor Company and Augmenta Bioworks. What's always engaged him is combining the wealth of tools available into novel solutions.  This has also grown his entrepreneurial side, most recently founding Cata Cooling to address the growing impacts on climate change and heat on outdoor workers.
