Karsten Schuhl is a designer, a researcher, an artist, and in love with the sounds of the world. He focuses on finding patterns in physical aspects and processes’ of the world, how they work, and how they influence perception.

He loves to ask questions such as: How do we listen to the spaces around us? How does sound propagate and what can we learn from acoustic anomalies? Do we need to see an object if we can hear its contour?

He is researching the construction of spatial illusions in sound, sonic architectures,  multi-sensory spatial environments, the aesthetics of spatial sound and music, and the materials and skills we need to craft meaningful experiences.
