Shada Alsalamah

Dr. Shada Alsalamah is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Information Systems Security at the College of Computer and Information Science, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. She is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Media Lab, MIT, MA, USA, joining Prof. Alex “Sandy” Pentland's Human Dynamics research group. Earlier this year she joint Pacioli as a Research Advisor for Healthcare blockchain. In 2017, she founded the mHealth Lab and since then she has become Vice President, mHealth Solutions Division, AnmarIT, Saudi Arabia. She also co-founded CIAG and co-organised with its members the first information security summer school in Saudi Arabia that was well-received. Since 2015, Dr. Alsalamah has been consulting for the Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA), KSU, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and in 2016 she established a Female Chapter of CoEIA that serves as the first information security entity in the region that involves women. 

In 2015, she received a PhD degree in Healthcare Information Systems' Security and Privacy, and an MSc degree in 2010 in Strategic Information Systems with Information Assurance from the School of Computer Science & Informatics at Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK. 

Dr. Alsalamah has been a keynote speaker,  presenter, and panelist  at a number of international events, including Big Ideas at Spotlight Health, Aspen Ideas Festival, Martha's Vineyard Crypto Symposium, the World BankMisk Talk in Los Angeles, Blockchain in Healthcare in Boston, and Blockchain in Healthcare West in San Francisco, Winter Youth Assembly at the United Nations, and the Science Collaboration Symposium on Cyber Security in Manchester.  

Dr. Alsalamah is a member of the editorial review board of a number of international journals, including: Journal of the British Blockchain Association (JBBA), IEEEAccess, The Journal of mHealth, International Journal of Reliable and Quality E-Healthcare, International Journal of Information Security and Privacy, Applied Clinical Informatics, the Journal of King Saud University-Computer and Information Sciences, and the Journal of Information Security and Cybercrimes Research

Finally, through her work, Dr. Alsalamah contributes to the global healthcare sector modernization movement by developing secure, smart, mobile, and intelligent solutions for emerging healthcare delivery models using cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Open Algorithms.
