Co-founded by Media Lab alum Alex Westner, Xander will introduce its first product, XanderGlasses, at CES 2023.

The CTA Foundation selected Xander as a winner of its Eureka Park Accessibility Contest, enabling the company to exhibit the glasses at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. Xander has also been recognized as a CES Eureka Park Pitch Competition Finalist, and as an AARP AgeTech After Dark Finalist.

XanderGlasses display captions in the wearer's field of view, making it possible to follow a live transcript of a conversation in real time. XanderGlasses can be used  at home, at work, or in a loud public setting.

Today, some 1.5 billion people worldwide have hearing loss, tens of millions of whom live in the United States. That number will only increase as the population ages.  XanderGlasses have been designed to help people with hearing loss understand others’ speech and feel more confident in conversations.  Reliability and privacy features are also integral to the system's design, which doesn't rely on smartphone or cloud connectivity.
