Yubin Cai, a graduate student in the Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek (NCB) research group at the MIT Media Lab, has won the prestigious MIT Presidential Fellowship Award. This award acknowledges the academic excellence and real-world impact of his research.

The Presidential Fellows program was first established in September 1999 and recruits the most outstanding students worldwide to pursue graduate studies at the Institute. As a Presidential Fellow, Yubin will join a cohort of 125 exemplary MIT graduate students. He will also receive a special award certificate emphasizing the prestigious nature of the award—along with the benefactor responsible for the award—at the fall welcome reception.

Yubin joined NCB group headed by Prof. Deblina Sarkar in 2020 for his master’s degree. He is continuing as a PhD student under the mentorship of Prof. Sarkar starting Fall 2022. His current research work is focused on nanoelectronics dedicated for health monitoring and novel therapeutics.
