(Re)Building the Economy | Alex (Sandy) Pentland | TEDxMIT

With each major crisis, be it pandemic, war, or major new technology, there has been the need to reinvent our society. To survive the current pandemic and economic crisis we need to build a society that is more resilient, inclusive, and innovative. To accomplish this we need to free communities to experiment and support their learning from each other rather than look to new regulations and big institutions. Alex 'Sandy' Pentland has helped create and direct MIT’s Media Lab, the Media Lab Asia, and the Center for Future Health. He chairs the World Economic Forum’s Data Driven Development council, is Academic Director of the Data-Pop Alliance, and is a member of the Advisory Boards for Google, Nissan, Telefonica, the United Nations Secretary General, Monument Capital, and the Minerva Schools.
