The Korean Government Scholarship Program for Study Overseas (KGSPSO) fellowship is bestowed upon students who exhibit exceptional academic achievements and are dedicated to fostering global human resources in the areas necessary for strategic growth of their nation and humanity as a whole. The KGSPSO fellowship has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1977, with recipients being selected through a nomination process led by the Korean government. In 2023, a total of 68 students have been honored with this fellowship.

Hyeokjun Yoon, a student in the Conformable Decoders group at the MIT Media Lab, focuses his work on wearable healthcare electronics, and the KGSPSO fellowship will play a pivotal role in supporting his graduate research endeavors throughout his master's program.
