The MIT City Science team will work with Ben-Gurion University (BGU) in Beersheba on a new collaboration to create the City Science Lab @ Israel. BGU may collaborate with other local universities as well including the School of Architecture at Sami Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE). Teams will research new systems and strategies for communities with the aim to develop and test experimental projects related to desert tech and new models for communities to reduce carbon emissions.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is a public research institution interested in establishing an innovative laboratory in the region to examine and advance spatial, regional, and urban issues using technological tools.
Note: this collaboration became official in the Spring of 2023 and was announced to the public at the City Science Summit in October of 2023.
