The City Science Lab in Andorra, managed by Andorra Research + Innovation, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! We are happy to continue the path that we started in 2014, aligning the strategy of generating and promoting knowledge, providing innovative solutions for sustainable development and contributing to the diversification of the Andorran economy.

In this meeting, we will show you how we work using the Andorra Living Lab framework, and also two case studies that are related to the context of the City Science Lab:

  • Andorra Living Lab – Developing ideas at a Country Scale: Andorra Living Lab is a space for innovation projects coordination, research, design and validation that involves all actors in the same ecosystem, enabling for development of new products and services, as well as encouraging the adoption of new technologies and in-depth reflections.
  • The Food Waste Analysis in the context of the national strategy of Circular Economy: this project is an initiative that is being developed with the support of the Ministry of Environment and ARI, and its main goals are to characterize the amount, typology, and origin of the food waste generated in the country in order to asses the best strategies to reduce and reuse it in our social and natural ecosystems.
  • Extended Sensoring to generate holistic insights about the Biosphere Reserve: in this initiative we are using traditional environmental sensors, bioindicators such as butterflies or tree leafs, and social science indicators like forest rangers' opinions, to extend the knowledge and situation of our environment. This is a state of the art project that is aiming to generate data from diverse sources to have a more holistic approach about the understanding of human and environment interactions.
