- City Science
Naroa Coretti Sánchez is a Research Scientist at the MIT Media Lab’s City Science group, where she works on the design and modeling of next-generation urban mobility systems, with a particular focus on lightweight autonomous systems.
Her work combines simulation and data-driven modeling to understand how emerging mobility systems perform at scale. She has developed agent-based and demand models, as well as life-cycle assessments, decentralized fleet management strategies, and multifunctional vehicle concepts to improve efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of new mobility.
Her work has been featured in international media, including the BBC, MarketWatch, and Canal+, and she has been recognized as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 and MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 Europe. Her research has also been exhibited at the Museum of Science in Boston and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
Beyond research, she collaborates with public institutions and industry partners on mobility policy and implementation, and has served on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Special Commission on Micromobility.
She holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, and an MSc in Industrial Technologies from the University of Navarre.
